With school starting back up I have made a decision to discontinue my blogging. I don't think I can keep up. On a brighter note, be my friend on facebook and lets keep in touch.

Why God Made Children
I was having a really bad day and was upset and crying because you name it and it happen that day. Caleb saw me crying and said mama I am going to pray for you. He said Dear God please be with my mama and make her feel better. That has to be one of the proudest moments for me. As a mother I often think I fail at times but at that moment I realized I did something right. I have a 3 year old that knew to turn to God when he or someone else needed help. Let me tell you I was so thankful and I immediately felt better. Thank you Caleb.

Thanking the Lord
I am so distraught about the family who just lost their son tragically. Please remember the Holladay family who lost their son Saturday. The family has been on my mind all day and night. I can't imagine loosing one of my kids. I know this happens but to loose your child in the manner they lost their son is awful. I do wonder why this and why this family but I know the Lord will have the last say on the person who took their son away from them.
I sometimes think how hard I have it at times with all the screaming and fussing but some people would love to hear that again from their child. The closest I have been to loosing a child is when Caylin was giving a 50/50 chance of living and put on a vent. To see your child in that situation and knowing you have no control is the worst experience. When you look at your kids tonight you thank the Lord for giving them to you and give them a big kiss and hug and never let a day go by without telling them you love them. You don't realize how good you have it till you don't have it anymore.

The Little Things
Today was very tiring. The kids were extra fussy today and the day did not seem it would end. But to give me a break from the challenging day I got to go out and eat with some teacher friends. It was a nice break and relaxing dinner. I enjoy those little moments. All the moms out there be sure to make some time for yourself.
Today will be better.

Caleb
Each day in the summer I have "school" for Caleb while the twins are taking their morning nap. Each day we learn a new skill. I am so proud of him. Yesterday I introduced the letter A but we are learning the sounds first instead of the letter name. He could pick out the letter A in a book and say its sound. Today we went over our letter sounds and vocabulary and did math. He can count up to 21 and knows all his colors and most of his alphabet. I introduced patterns and he could tell me what was suppose to come next. He probably got 2 out of 5 but I was very proud of him. We learned about Adam and Eve during our Bible story and everything this week revolves around the letter A. He really thrives with structure and one on one time.
We are working on patterns. This was around 9:30 and we still haven't gotten any clothes on yet.

Remodled Bathroom
Many of you know that our house was a two bedroom two bath house until the twins came along. We didn't have anywhere to put them so Dave and his dad turned our garage into a bedroom. I am going to have to brag on them because it looks really good. Despite the new bedroom we didn't have a bathroom on that end of the house so Dave and his dad decide to make us one. I am so excited because they did a great job. Again, I am going to have to brag because the work looks like a professional. I guess that is one good thing about a perfectionist husband and father-in-law. :)

Typical Afternoon
The kids love to play and play. It ranges from pushing each other over for a certain toy that they only play with for 2 seconds, to sharing with everyone, or running away. A chaotic as it may be I am so happy for the simple peaceful moments. Take a look at our playtime.

We have another WALKER
Finally Colby has started taking steps. He is so cautious that he has been afraid to let go of our hands and the wall. He reminds me of my Pepie Raymond, slow and steady. I will be very suprised if Colby ever turned out to be a risk taker because he is so safe, LOL!! Pics to come of our little baby.

Blessings in Disguise
I would like extra prayer for our family. We have had a run of unforunate events that have crossed our paths. It has been very discouraging and makes you question your abilities and such. I guess this is a test of my faith. I know things happen for a reason but it doesn't make it any better. Pray for the kids and us as well.

Ear Infection and Screaming
I need a lot of prayers for Colby. He ran 103.0 fever Saturday and was diagnosed with a right ear infection. He has been having screaming fits and is very irritable. It has been very stressful with all the crying and the others feed off from it as well. Please pray that I will stay calm and compassionate. The screaming is awful to hear and you just want to make the pain go away. He is on antibotics but it usually takes the whole week before he is back to himself. Hurry week!!

Obsessed
I don't know that it is all about but each of my children have a certain obsession. Caylin is obsessed with splashing her hand in the potty water, it is gross. She waddles in the bathroom when I am in there and opens up the lid and has a field day. Colby is obsessed with the broom and how it works and Caleb is obsessed with me sleeping by him so he can go to sleep at night. I am not sure what my obsession would be??? Anyone with strange obsessions??

A Biter
I know this face is angelic but I have a biter on my hands and I am open for any suggestions.
Unfortunately she has left marks on her friends at daycare and is biting excessively. I am not sure how to handle this because as a parent I would not want my child to be bitten all the time. I have never had a biter and I am at lost. She may be teething but mainly she does it because she wants something someone else has and she gets it any way she needs too. She is a fiesty thing. Suggestions please!!!!!

Suggestions???
My little Caylin is a firecracker. She is in this stage where she cries a lot because she doesn't get her way. Caleb was sitting in my lap and she came over there and tried to bite him and push him out of my lap. I ignored her being ugly and she proceeded to roll all over the floor in a tantrum. She is very demanding and does not give up very easily at all. What do I do???????????? The other kids want attention too. I can't help but laugh because if you saw her... looks are so deceiving because she looks like a sweet babydoll :)

Something is funny
I was fixing dinner and put the babies in their highchair. Colby was still eating and laughing away. I figured that Dave was making a funny face but peeped around the corner and noticed he was playing with Caleb. I looked closely at Colby and he was holding up his spaghetti and thought that was the funniest thing. I thought to myself if spaghetti could make me that happy I would be doing all right. It is amazing to see the little things that make our kids so happy.

Is that my child??
Looks are so deceiving!! My sweet little "angel" Caylin has started her temper tantrums. Her tantrums included throwing herself on the ground and crying. What do I do??? Colby just seems to watch her like what are you doing.
Caleb and his daddy made an Easter hat for his preschool parade. It looks so cute. I am so proud of them.

Guilt as Well
My cousin had written a note on her blog about feeling guilty for not being at home with her kids and having to work outside the home. I would love to hear others solutions and options on this matter. I totally understand her dilemma. I too feel like my kids are craving my attention. When I get home they are all on me and wanting me to hold them and that is hard to divide your attention between little babies and then get a little down time for yourself after a long day. I wish I had the luxury to work only parttime but I don't think that will ever happen. I enjoy working outside the home and it gives me a little bit of an identity for myself and the extra money does help out. It does make me sad that sometimes my kids misbehaves and maybe it is for attention eventhough it is negative. I am hard on them at times but it is because I worry so much that if I am not then they will turn out like some of my kids I teach at school and I do not want that. I am glad I get the summers off with them though. I love them and why didn't someone tell me that parenting was so hard???

We have offically gotten rid of all our baby bottles and are strictly on sippy cups for all children. I can't believe no more baby bottles, does that mean my babies are growing up.
What do we do?? LOL!!

Happy Birthday Colby & Caylin
It was this day at 1:30pm Colby Parker was born and 6 minutes later at 1:36pm, Caylin Leigh was born. We had the babies party last Saturday. It was a barn yard theme. They had cupcakes and received lots of toys. They both got a baby swimming pool together from Dave and me. Caylin received a baby stroller and baby dolls and other goodies. Colby got a train toy and outfits. They both got a picnic table to play on as well.
I am so blessed to have these angels. I can remember the day perfectly. I was put on bedrest and I was on bed rest starting my second week. I was going to the doctor at least twice a week. It was March the 10th, a Monday, and I had been having contractions but nothing too horrible. I made it to the doctor and was dilated to a 3. My doctor said I was not going anywhere because I was in active labor. I was admitted to the hospital. It was a slow labor process. I finally dilated to a 7 the next day, yes I said the next day, it was a long labor. The twins labor was much easier than Calebs because I went in labor on my own. The hospital had tried to stop my contractions Monday but it didn't work and they were coming. I was taken to the operationg room and didn't get to be in the birthing room just in case I had to have an emergency c-section but I didn't have to. It was an easy delivery and each baby came out fine. Colby weighed in at 4lb 9oz. Caylin did not cry when she came out and had to have oxygen. She weighed in at 4lb 4oz. They were so tiny. They stayed in the NICU for two weeks as feeder and growers. They did great and had no prematurity problems. They were born 4 1/2 weeks early. Their due date was April 16th. I can't believe they were so small at one time but now a big boy and girl. They had a great birthday and it was a success.

Leave it to Maxine (the cartoon character)
Leave it to Maxine to come up with a solution for the mess that America is in economically now
I bought a bird feeder. I hungit on my back porch and filledit with seed. What a beauty ofa bird feeder it was, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within aweek we had hundreds of birdstaking advantage of thecontinuous flow of free andeasily accessible food. But then the birds startedbuilding nests in the boardsof the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It waseverywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table ..everywhere!Then some of the birdsturned mean. They woulddive bomb me and try topeck me even though I hadfed them out of my ownpocket. And others birds wereboisterous and loud. Theysat on the feeder andsquawked and screamed atall hours of the day and nightand demanded that I fill itwhen it got low on food. After a while, I couldn't evensit on my own back porchanymore. So I took down thebird feeder and in three daysthe birds were gone. I cleanedup their mess and took downthe many nests they had builtall over the patio.Soon, the back yard was likeit used to be .... quiet, serene....and no one demanding theirrights to a free meal. Now let's see.Our government gives outfree food, subsidized housing, free medical care and freeeducation, and allows anyoneborn here to be an automaticcitizen. Then the illegals came by thetens of thousands. Suddenlyour taxes went up to pay forfree services; small apartmentsare housing 5 families; youhave to wait 6 hours to be seenby an emergency room doctor;your child's second grade class isbehind other schools becauseover half the class doesn't speakEnglish.Corn Flakes now come in abilingual box; I have to'press one ' to hear my banktalk to me in English, andpeople waving flags otherthan 'Old Glory' aresquawking and screamingin the streets, demandingmore rights and free liberties.Just my opinion, but maybeit's time for the governmentto take down the bird feeder. If you agree, pass it on; if not, continue cleaning up the poop

TAKS Test
Next Tuesday the students will take the Writing TAKS test. My collegue has worked hard and prays for success. It is very stressful because this one test "decides" if you are a good teacher and are worthy of your subject. I teach Reading and my doom day will be in April. I feel like I don't get to have fun with the students but "teach the test." It is very stressful and the kids are burned out. When does school get to be fun???

Check your Medicines
I have a friend who is going through a prescription medicine nightmare. My friend has a son who has health issues. She went to fill his medicine and the pharmacy gave her the wrong dosage. The medicine he was prescribed already has serious side effects if not monitored. The child was suppose to be taking 250mg 3x a day for his seizures and the pharmacy gave her 500mg 3x a day, therefore; doubling his dosage. The child is looking at long term problems. He could possibly have liver or pancreas problems.
Parents we must be cautious about what the doctor is prescribing and check the prescription slip with the bottle and the medicine itself. My friend happen to the check the pills that had the dosage on it. It is so scary to know this happen to my friend. I am going to be more cautious and ask questions if I don't know.

Spring Break Coming
I am on the countdown till Spring Break. I am so ready for a break in our daily routine. Well I guess I should say the school routine because I like routine and schedules with the kids. We are going camping and I am very excited but one dilemma where are we going to put all the kids to sleep?? Our camper is set up with bunkbeds and the couch and table make out into a bed. Caleb could possibly get in the top bunkbed with a side railing keeping him in and Colby could get in the bottom with a side railing but what about Caylin??? Any suggestions?
Oh something funny..... I took all the kids to Walmart to get a few things and I had 3 people ask me if all those kids were mine, LOL!! They wonder because they all are very close in age. I love it when people just bluntly ask me or I get the stares of curiousity. I think it is so funny. I guess next time I should say I don't know who all these kids belong too. :)

11 Months Old
I can't believe in one more month my babies will be a year old. They are doing so good. Caylin has been walking since 10 1/2 months. She has 5 teeth and has used them on her friends and teachers at preschool. She is a mess. She is petite but has some chubbiness to her. She has started her temper tantrums and will let you know when she doesn't agree with something.
Colby started crawling at 10 months old and pulling up and cruising along the furniture. He is still the observer of the group. He is long and small built. He still has the sweetest smile. Colby has started taking up more for himself. He wanted a cracker Caylin had and just took it from her and of course sister was not happy. You don't mess with sister and her food.

3 Year Old Big Boy
(6 months old)
I can't believe my sweet angel is 3 years old. It doesn't seem right. I mean he should be the twins age. We had his birthday at McDonalds and this was his first party to invite kids. He had a blast.
3 years old
It all began with a thought to expand our family and two weeks later I found out I was pregnant. I was due Jan. 28th. Well of course being the personality he has now he will do things on his own time. He was late of course. I was induced on Jan. 31 and 12 hours later at 6:48pm, my angel was born. He was 7lb 12oz. He was so cute!! He was looking around and was innocent. It was an amazing experience that I hope I will never forget. Now it is 3 years later and he is so tall and big that it only seems like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. I love him so much. He is smart as a whip and very strong willed but that makes him unique. He still has his baby face to me and I love it. Would I go back to the baby days, ummm??

I'm Going to be an Aunt
As of yesterday I found out that Raven is pregnant. I am so excited! I was going to put as the topic "The Family is Growing" but I was afraid someone would think I was expecting and Lord knows 3 is enough, LOL. Lets start praying now because I am sure she will be drama(I know Raven you are reading this :) ). Dave's sister had a baby in December and I haven't saw her yet :( I hope that Raven and my kids grow up close.

We have a Walker and Crawler
As of last night, Caylin took her first 3 steps. She walked to me and Caleb. She is not a pro yet and still prefers crawling but she is on her way to walking. Colby has now started crawling on his knees and Caylin is the leader and he crawls after her. It reminds me of a bunch of hamsters running around. :)

Clean Bill of Health
The twins went for their belated 9 month well check. (They are really 10 months). Caylin weighed in at 17lbs and 26.5 inches long. She is short and squaddy. Colby weighed in at 17.14 lbs and 29 inches long. He is long and thin. I can't believe at one time Colby was 4.9 lbs and Caylin was 4.4 lbs. They were so tiny at one time. As much as they eat I am suprised they are not as big as a house. I have the bills on formula and baby food to prove it, LOL. No one had ear infections and are growing well. I am so proud that everything checked out. Dave went with me and we had all 3 because I had to take all of them with me to make the appointment in time. It was a mess as you can imagine. They did receive their second flu shot and of course that was not welcomed.
