Today at school we had reading benchmarks. Most of my kids did well and I am proud of them. It was very long supervising them all and watching them take a test. I am hoping the stress will end soon. The TAKS test puts a lot of pressure on you and the kids.
What is anyones take on tests???

I hate them! And I hate how they rate teachers on their students ability to pass or not pass the TAKS! It is so unfair....you are given different kids each year with different abilities and you do what you can with them. That is one of the main reasons I taught grades that don't take the TAKS yet...even though they do make us TPRI them often and do a few benchmarks. Teaching to a test is not teaching in my opinion. On that note, I hope that the "No Child Leftbehind Act" is ended very soon!

I feel sorry for the children and more sympathy for the teachers because it puts a lot of pressure on everyone. I am not for the TAKS test at all.
